blue inked parchment,a skin by margie. description,My first ever pre-made v5 skin! This skin began as a request but after that request was abandoned I continued creating it so that I could share it with you all. This is a light skin using a scheme of blues, cremes and browns with a main design image of old parchment. The skin includes a hover banner, hover mini-profiles and heaps of remodels. rules,- Keep the credits on. In the thread description, on the bottom of the forum wrapper and all credits that are on in templates and the style sheet for different bits and pieces. They aren't going to make the skin look ugly or more difficult to use so there's no reason to even think of touching them.
- This a a pre-made theme so treat it as such. Don't overly change it. Images, colours and information can be changed but don't go remodeling the boards and messing with the banner hover.
- If you like a remodel or anything in the skin, PM me and ask politely for it rather than downloading the skin just to get that remodel. That's stealing and if you ask, I'm more than happy to give you the code for a remodel or help you with things like hovers.
- Don't steal. Most simple rule. Don't claim it as yours, repost it anywhere or use without posting in this thread.
plugins,- Hide Avatar Builder: Makes the Edit Avatar page much cleaner. Recommended but not needed for the skin to function.
- Thread Descriptions: Again, not needed. The CSS for this plugin is included in the style sheet so if you want thread descriptions all you have to do is install the plugin.
Note: There is space in the mini-profile for the monetary system plugin, it can be shown on the blue bar at the bottom of both staff and member mini-profiles. I haven't however tested it and am not familiar with it in remodeled mini-profiles.
I cannot guarantee that any other plugins will work with this skin.
includes,- Hover Banner by myself (includes welcome message, updates, links, staff & OTMs)
- Sticky Menu Bar by elli
- Custom Board Remodel, Info Center Remodel & Chatbox table by myself
- Hover Mini-Profile by @khristian with staff, member & guest designs by myself
- Thread & Conversation List Remodels by o k
- Profile Remodel by @khristian
updates,- 0.0.1 Released
- 0.0.2 Fixed problem with staff & OTM images not showing separately. Also added if statement to show member rank if not in a group.
- 0.0.3 Fixed links in mini-profiles which were not working.

blue inked parchment,the set-up guide. Before we get onto images, the actusl colours and custom fields, I should let you know where the information can be edited. In Layout Templates > Forum Wrapper you can edit the hover banner and the chatbox table to add in information & edit some colours. In Layout Templates > Mini-Profile you can edit the mini-profiles, including all colours. In Advanced Styles & CSS > Style Sheet you can edit the colours for the Board List, Info Center and Thread/Conversation Lists.
images,This is probably the first thing you're going to want to change when you install the skin. There are a few different images that can be changed in this skin and I'll list below. - THE BANNER: Your banner image is going to need to be exactly 1050x400px for the banner hover to work correct. In your admin panel go to Structure > Layout Templates > Forum Wrapper. If you scroll down to Line 44 and replace "http://placehold.it/1050x400" with a link to your banner image.
- UPDATE ICONS: Staying in your Forum Wrapper, scroll down to Lines 50 and 55. Replace "http://placehold.it/70x70" with a 70x70px icon you want next to both of the update spots.
- STAFF IMAGES: Still in the Forum Wrapper, scroll down to Lines 65, 66 and 67. Replace "http://placehold.it/90x90" with a 90x90px icon for each staff member. Only 3 staff spots are included in this skin.
- OTM IMAGES: Again, staying in the Forum Wrapper. On Lines 87, 88, 89, 90 and 91. Replace "http://placehold.it/48x100" with a 48x100px image for each of the month spot/winner.
- DEFAULT AVATAR: Go to Members > Forum Avatars. Paste a link to the 220x350px image you want to use for the default avatar in the text field and click "Link Image". Once the image is uploaded you should be able to see it further down on the page, click on that image to make it the default avatar.
- GUEST AVATAR: Go to Structure > Layout Templates > Mini-Profiles. Down on Line 154 replace "http://placehold.it/220x350" with a link to the avatar you want guests to have.
colours,Below are all the hex colours used in the style sheet and layout templates that you may want to change if you're re-colouring the skin. 257771 30928b 47b4ac 000 161611 32332c 454531 76775f 9fa086 aaa786 afab8d b7b38d b5b18f b1ae8c c5c29e c3bf9c c1bd96 d0cca5 d6d2aa e7e5cb ececec custom fields,For the mini-profiles to work you'll need to add these custom fields. Go to Members > Custom Profile Fields and enter these in EXACTLY how I tell you to. - 100x100 Image - Text Field - URL (plain text) - Who can edit: Staff with Power
- Character Age - Text Field - Numbers Only
- Sexuality - Drop Down Selection - You'll have to set the options yourself.
- Application - Text Field - URL (plain text)
- Plotter - Text Field - URL (plain text)
- Alias - Text Field
If you need help after reading this set-up guide, please reply to this thread with the problem you're having AND A LINK TO THE SITE YOU'RE HAVING ISSUES WITH MY SKIN ON. Please, it makes my job a lot easier if you provide a link. It means I can see the problem, inspect element, anything like that to help you.

Awesome! I do have another question, how do we insert the chatbox/shoutbox at the bottom? My coding skills apparently can't figure this out... :/

I'm not sure, but I think it would be easiest to use the proboards one

Alright, cadykay, I had to work out how to move the shoutbox. To add the shoutbox into the chatbox spot you need to: - Put the following code in your Global Footer. (Thank you Jordan for having this code in the Template Library.)
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#move-shoutbox').append($('div.shoutbox.container.full'));
});
</script>
- Go to your Forum Wrapper and replace this:
<img src="http://placehold.it/720x280&text=CBOX+HERE+(720x280)" /> With this: (Again, thanks Jordan for having this code in the Template Library.)
<div id="move-shoutbox"></div>
- Still in your Forum Wrapper, find the following code and change the height to 390px. (You can use ctrl+F to search for it.)
<div style="width:290px;height:280px;background-color:#d6d2aa;padding:10px;">
- Go to Settings > Shoutbox and change the Shoutbox Height to 350px.
- Make sure in your Shoutbox Settings that it is Enabled.
Now your shoutbox should show up.
Also, for the chatbox rules. Add <br /> after a rule if it is only one line long. This will stop the numbers from messing up.

Have you added in the custom field correctly? With the exact name? It is case sensitive. Are you putting a link straight to the image into the field? (A URL that ends in .jpg .png or .gif) If those are both correct, would you mind PMing me your mini-profile template? ( Structure > Layout Templates > Mini-Profiles, just copy the whole thing and send it to me so I can look at it.) Also, cadykay and Fern, I missed a step in inserting the shoutbox onto the skin so if you would like to get rid of the small title bar that says "SHOUTBOX" just follow this next step: - Go to Structure > Layout Templates > Shoutbox and remove the following:
<div class="title-bar"><h2>Shoutbox</h2></div>

Okay! Thank you, that worked! But what about for the other options? None of those worked? And how do I put money on the mini profile? Also, how do I edit the links? I got those! But now I'm having issues with the staff... for some reason its showing three of the same images over? Did I edit something wrong?

Okay, for all of the custom fields you need to make sure you add them in exactly how I've said in the set-up guide and they should work fine. If you are having any issues with them, let me know. Oh, and as for money in mini-profiles I'll quote from the original post: I have no idea how to add money to the mini-profile basically.
As for staff, I fixed an issue with staff and OTM images in version 0.0.2, so make sure you have that version of the skin. (If you got to Theme Manager, click on the theme it should take you to a page where you can check the version.) I cannot currently get inspect element to work so I can't check to see if you've edited something wrong. If you have the correct skin version and you're still having this issue, PM me you're forum wrapper code.

Ok awesome! I hate to ask, but what would I do to input a different chatbox (not proboards one)? Just input the box code where the script is?

Yes, instead of replacing:
<img src="http://placehold.it/720x280&text=CBOX+HERE+(720x280)" /> With this:
<div id="move-shoutbox"></div> Replace it with the code for whatever chatbox you're using.

I am having trouble with the mini profiles working. None of the custom profile fields are showing up in the mini profiles, as well as its changing the "years old" into the year the site is currently at? I don't know if you need me to repost the link but: www.vors.proboards.com

Fern, do you know that the mini-profiles for staff and members are different? So the custom fields for Character Age, Sexuality, Application, Plotter and Alias are only seen in member profiles while the custom field for the 100x100 image is only shown in staff profiles. (The mini-profiles were coded with one-character-per-account RP sites in mind.) If this is your problem, it can be changed so that either of the profiles are used for both staff and members. The year problem, though, is something I can easily help you fix. On the main admin account on the forum, the birthday is automatically set to a default. (1/1/2000 I think) You'll need to go to Your Profile > Edit Profile > Privacy then find Change Birthday, tick the checkbox and change your birthday. This should only be an issue with the main admin account as any other accounts made on the forum will have their birthdays imported in from their global proboards account.
