I'm new to the support forum, but I've been using ProBoards since late 2004, so not exactly new. I dunno what to put here, really. I'm 24, still in school, getting my bachelor's in nutritional sciences. I love roleplaying, listening to music, video games, and D&D. I plan on going to medical school in Japan after I graduate and specialising in pediatric oncology. I think that about sums me up in a nutshell.

-waves- douzo yoroshiku! =] welcome to support.
edit; pediatric oncology! bold line of work; i hope you are OK with it, emotionally. that was originally my dream as a child, but after my grandmother was stricken with cancer, i found i couldn't deal with the emotions. not just with my grandma, but i went on the oncology floor a lot and talked in the pediatric ward with a lot of the patients. i just couldn't ... meh. >.<

Hi Luke! Yeah, I've been around for quite a while. Some of the best years of my life, actually
Kami - My grandmother also passed away from cancer three and a half years ago. That's sort of when I decided to go into oncology. However, I get along with kids better than I do adults, which is why I chose pediatrics. I've dealt with a lot of tragedy in my life, so I would like to think that I can handle it emotionally. But that's what elective rotations are for. >.>

Hai XD For many, many years. I've been in love with Japan since I was a little girl, and would like to live there and raise a family there with my fiance.

We're going to be spending a month or two there next year just to see if we like it enough to live there. We don't want to blindly pick up and move and then find out we really don't like it. I'm hoping we do, though. It's been my dream to live there for years.

-nodnod- where abouts do you think you'll stay? in the tokyo area, or a more rural area? or a more historical area, like kyoto?

I would like to live between Tokyo and Kyoto, that way I have access to the city, but I won't live directly in the city. I know there are a lot of miles between the two, so I'll have to do my research.

sounds good. i don't think i'd want to live directly in tokyo, much too busy. -nod- i hear tho that the bullet trains get you from the tokyo area to the kyoto area in almost no time.

Yeah, that's what I heard, too. I'll most likely be relying on the bullet train and their public transportation system a lot. I wouldn't mind working in Tokyo as long as the commute isn't too long. They have some excellent hospitals in Tokyo.
