Hi, just wondering if you guys can give functionality to embedding links from x.com to work the same from twitter.com since now if you copy a URL from twitter it links to x.com
For example, here are two links from twitter.com and x.com now:
twitter.com
x.com:
(nothing shows up)

This can be marked as a feature request by the PB admins during business hours tomorrow (9am to 5pm pacific/-8 gmt), but to levelset expectations, feature development work on v5 and v6 have been halted indefinitely. If the team is able to add this functionality due to twitter as a whole no longer really being valid due to rebranding, there's no telling how long it may be until they're able to do so.

On my PB sites I have used the censored words function to change "x.com" to "twitter.com" which works but I suppose it might be an issue if you actually want to link to an actual x.com link.

kaybli - Just an fyi that clicking the 'share' link gives the x.com URL, however if you click the 3-dots in the upper right corner of the twitter post and from the dropdown select Embed Post, it gives you the twitter.com URL for embedding on the forum. See example: Currently embeds are still working with the embed post URL (or the work around Willow suggested), and previous embeds have not been affected. Once the dust settles from the X rebranding, we'll assess what we need to do moving forward.

So this what I see when I try other social media sites. So like I assumed before its on proboards end and not the site that is trying to be embedded because I can embed the same post on a different forum and it works just fine. When you guys update the embeds that are actually allowed (I assume if its you approve of the site or not because allowing an url to pass is pretty easy to do) please let us know so we can make sure all social media sites are allowed. Unless we have gone the way of anti-free speech which in that case its probably time to move along to a different host. kaybli - Just an fyi that clicking the 'share' link gives the x.com URL, however if you click the 3-dots in the upper right corner of the twitter post and from the dropdown select Embed Post, it gives you the twitter.com URL for embedding on the forum. Once the dust settles from the X rebranding, we'll assess what we need to do moving forward. The uh, assumption that this situation has anything to do with "free speech" is honestly unwarranted. It has nothing to do with whether or not PB "approves", but rather that feature development work on both v5 (current) and v6 has been suspended indefinitely. Once the dust settles and PB can see if X will remain X long term + once the team is able to once again work on PB features, then they'll be able to give you an ETA. It was explicitly stated in the post by Scott that this was something they were waiting to evaluate. With feature dev suspended, they simply cannot give you a timeline on when this would be added. Literally nothing relating to do with free speech or censorship, just logistics. That said tho it may be worth noting in the US (where PB is based) that free speech only refers to the government being unable to prevent you from speaking your truth and does not apply to private entities, such as but not limited to PB. This isn't a political or moral statement, just an informative one so you can levelset expectations.

Hi Everyone, This recent change by X (formerly Twitter) is the source of this issue. When we can do so we will be updating the embed code on our side to take the changed URL (though why you'd throw away a decade+ of good branding with things like "tweet" and "retweet" for "post" and "repost" is beyond me). In the meantime using Willow's suggestion above of using the censored words list is a great workaround until we can get this updated.

I was baffled by the change as well, but I think it is less about branding and more about territorial marking.
