Forum URL: buildinggreatness.proboards.com/A feature request... sort of. Just as there must be an Admin account and there are certain requirements of that account when setting it up, I think that it would be a good idea for the Admin to be required to set up a "Chain of Succession" when they are setting up their forum.... and it wouldn't have to be set in stone... it could be something that they could change at-will, later too. It could be as simple as two boxes of "radio buttons" with choices like: followed by: Something like that. Admittedly, my forum is basically dead at the moment... but... I thought this was a good idea anyway for active forums.

RichardInTN - The overall idea is good and I see someone marked this as a Feature Request. Currently we do have the option for admins to create a Succession Agreement for their forum. Granted this is not a built-in software feature, but offers the same end result. In fact we even set up a special private board for admins to reach out to us to establish their agreement. (Please see linked article.)

Tag: ScottI see that... I also see that it appears that no one as of yet has ever used that board you set up. The reason I suggest that it be built in is because there are probably more than a few Admins that didn't even realize that it was an option. If it was "baked into" signing up for a board, then everyone would have one, and they wouldn't have to think about it before realizing that they might want one. Just a thought though.

Tag: Scott I see that... I also see that it appears that no one as of yet has ever used that board you set up. This is a private board, so users will not see the threads. Only the thread creator and us PB Admins can see and respond to the thread they create. This offers the comfort of privacy for admins to freely post their succession wishes. (The board has been used.)
Agreed, but development is on hold at the moment, so I don't see this being added in the near future. In the meantime we have added the dedicated board and Help Guide article.

Scott, what if an admin just gets bored and abandons the forum and doesn't log in anymore? Does there have to be a death involved?

Ahhh... gotcha. I have/had a board like that on my forum... so I totally understand that. Agreed, but development is on hold at the moment, so I don't see this being added in the near future. In the meantime we have added the dedicated board and Help Guide article.
